The features on this mp3 player are online with others in its price range. You can store music, video, photos and text files. It has a touch screen that you need to calibrate at the start. After that it works well enough. I have noticed some over sensitivity, but nothing too annoying.
Included is a micro sd card slot. The manual says up to 8gb, but I am using a 16gb micro sd card and it reads just fine. When you install the sd card be sure to use the "Explore" button to access the card. If you just hit music you will only get the internal hard drive.
The sound is ok, but its nothing that great. Try invest in some really good headphones. The ones that come with it are not so great. I recommend a pair of skullcandy or some in the ear buds. When I exercise at the gym even a cheap pair of in the ear buds work better. So just replace them and make your life easier.
THE NOT SO GOOD
Sylvania has the worst customer service. I called their main number and was given a number for an outsourced service. I won't list it. I waited 20 minutes to get through the first time and was hung up. On the second try I got through and was told that the player could only take 2gb sd cards. Then I was told 4, then 8. And at one point the joker on the phone (bad English skills) said yes, 16gb when I mentioned I was looking at 16 gb sd cards.
So I gave up on that. I called the Geek Squad at Best Buy (I think those guys know everything) and was told that anything built in the past few years should take at least a 16gb. Now I am thinking of trying a 32 gb just to see how high I can go.
The battery life is not great. It's ok, but wears down pretty fast as far as I am concerned. After about 3 hours of constant play it flat lines out, so I carry the charger with me. To me, this is the biggest fault of the player.
