If you have a receiver, you can pump up the volume, and hear the nuance of the music much clearer and sharper than with plain old ear buds. Your entire body can feel the bass rather than just your ears. The design of the product is attractive and durable, a perfect compliment to the iphone. I couldn't be happier with this simple yet valuable product.

Since there is no bend protection behind the connectors, the sharp bend quickly broke the connection inside and it stopped working all-together. Also, the retractor stopped catching, causing the cord to whip back in randomly. Although the price was very cheap, unless you want to buy a handful a year, spend a little more money and save yourself a headache.

It was unbearable that when I play music through the Aux jack while having the charger plugged in (any devices). There were "weeeezing" noises that drowned the music. (More customer reviews)I like to hook up my iPod to whatever vehicle I'm driving when I'm at work, and twice I tried the more convenient retractable MP3 audio input cable, I think the brand might have been Belkin or Realtec or one of the big brands that make iPod accessorys. However, both times the hardware falls short- within weeks of use, it was necessary to twist the cable around because it was losing contact, and within months it just quit.
This Monster cable is solid and well built. I don't forsee any of the same problems that I had with the more cheaply-made retractable cables. Monster makes quality products that are built to last- I still use Monster cables from my first surround sound system at home that I purchased in 2000.
