I have been using a 7" tablet for a while and always felt that my 7" tablet is really hard to carry it around. (too big). Since I love android devices (my phone, tablets all android based), I wanted to try android based smaller size devices.
First of all, ICE Smart is a 5" player and it is a perfect size for me to bring it everywhere.
Here are some pros and cons after a few days of use
Pros
- Size
- very fast performance for media playback (without any delays for any full HD video files, various file supports)
- OTG function (you can connect your external HDD and camera directly. many times, I connect my external HDD, where all my videos and photos are stored, and watch movies directly. Good function)
- TV output via HDMI. (It mirrors the screen of the player to the TV. I use wireless keyobard and mouse and connect the player to my TV... and really my TV becomes android TV, I played youtube videos on my TV for my kids)
- Applications - through google marketplace and amazon marketplace, I can download many many many applications
- Touch - even it uses resistive screen, it is pretty sensitive and I can enlarge the screen with 2 fingers (my 7" resistive tablet has only one point touch screen so I could not play angry bird)
- Design and finish - it looks like it is a high end product. Very solid design and finish
Cons
- Screen - even though it is sensitive enough, it takes time to get used to this resistive screen (it is different from capacitive screen for most of smartphones)
- When you download and install many applications, it starts getting slow..then I have to close open applications time to time to have better speed
Will update this review after I use a little longer. I would say it is a really good media player (Best MP4 or PMP with full HD video playbacks and full of android features). If you are looking for a very fancy android tablet, you should go for much pricier ones from famous manufacturers. If you are looking for portable audio player with full of android functions,, i would say this is the one for you.
So far, I am using this player more often than 7" tablet I have.
