(More customer reviews)I purchased the Motorola-branded cradle (Multimedia Docking Station) originally but was disappointed that it wouldn't charge using a USB cable from the computer. So I kept looking and found this one. I purchased an extra battery and liked this one for the extra charging slot. So on paper, the design looked like it fit my needs.
But alas, buyers beware. The spare battery slot only charges the battery about half the time. So if you let your primary battery run down, you'll be disappointed to find your spare is also almost dead. The piece of tape used to assist in removing the spare battery came loose soon after I started using it. I haven't tried to re-glue it.
The coiled cord to sync and charge works well. But the status lights are almost worthless -- the blue ones stays on all of the time and it would be would be more helpful if it would only light up when a successful connection has been made with the phone. The spare battery slot's red/green light is not accurate since I have frequently discovered discharged batteries as stated above.
I had to return the first one because the metal teeth in the spare battery slot were broken and the mini USB coiled cord would not plug into the phone. This review is based on the replacement. I purchased this cradle from Bargain Cell via Amazon and now noticed that they are no longer carrying it -- probably too many returns!
I just wish Motorola hadn't screwed up the design of their docking station... :-(
