Belkin Micro USB Auto Charger 5VOLT 1A Review

Belkin Micro USB Auto Charger 5VOLT 1A

I was a bit disappointed by this charger, as I had used both the palm pre car charger and a cheapo ebay charger with my HTC evo, and the phone recognized both of those as 1A chargers and displayed as being charged by the AC adapter. I bought this charger expecting as much, as it is rated at 1A and I liked the low profile of it.
Unfortunately, the phone recognizes it as a USB port and defaults to charging at 500mA, which is a much slower charge and I cannot use the Navigation for extended periods without losing battery. I have heard that just altering the cable or getting certain cables will remedy this and draw the full 1A, I just wish I wouldn't have to go find all this stuff. The design is very good though, no problems using either of the ports on my 2006 Mini.

StarTech.com UUSBHAUB1RA 1 Feet Micro USB Cable - A to Right Angle Micro B Review

StarTech.com UUSBHAUB1RA 1 Feet Micro USB Cable - A to Right Angle Micro B

This cable is exactly what it says it is -- a short cable with a standard USB male end on one side and a Micro B USB right angle male end on the other side. I use it as a data cable for my Nokia Nuron 5230 Cell Phone and as a data and charging cable for my Jawbone ERA bluetooth earpiece.
Features:

- It's short. That's a plus for me, because it's just long enough to set my phone on top of my desktop tower and connect to the USB ports on the top of the tower, but not so long that it has a lot of extra cable.

- It works. No problems using this as either a data or a power cable.

- It has a right angle Micro B end. According to the literature, this is to allow the cable to hook to something that is nearly flush to the wall, but the cable is so short that I doubt many people will use it in that configuration. But if you have a Micro USB device flush to the wall within 1 foot of the USB connection you want to plug it in to, this will be great. Otherwise, right angle is as good as straight on for my purposes, so I ignore it.

Note that this is the Micro B connection - many cameras, blackberries, etc. will use the slightly larger Mini B plug, so make sure you're getting the right one.

Portable AA Battery Powered Emergency Charger with Flashlight - Black - For Anything Powered Via USB Review

Portable AA Battery Powered Emergency Charger with Flashlight - Black - For Anything Powered Via USB

I don't review often, but I felt compelled to write a review for this because there weren't many and because this is an excellent device at a great deal. I bought this with the intention of using rechargeable AA batteries to recharge my iPod Touch 2G when away from other power sources. It works great for this.
After a little bit of testing, I found that this will consistently charge my iPod Touch from completely drained to 100% in about 3 hours from 2 fully charged AA rechargeable batteries. One full charge completely drains the AA batteries. It will get to 80% in about 1.5 hours. (I tested Energizer, Everlast, and Eneloop rechargeable batteries with this, and all produced about the same results). Interestingly, I also tested Rayovac AA alkaline batteries, which only produced a 45% charge before they were completely drained.
I also used this with an HTC Incredible, for which it produced about half a charge before the AA batteries were drained.
Overall, it works very well for what I bought it for, and at a very reasonable price for something like this.

iSound 16000 MaH portable battery.
Sure, it's a little bit large - but really, it's plenty small enough to easily fit in a briefcase, backpack or even a cargo pocket.
I wanted to test out the life of the battery before writing the review, so I charged up the iSound first, then ran my iPad2 down to 14% battery. I then put the iPad to sleep and plugged in the spare. Four hours later I was up to 95% power of the iPad and the indicators in the iSound still show between 50 and 75% charge. AWESOME!
I feel this would easily charge the iPad from near zero to full twice and then some. Thinking about a great use for this would be a long flight or trip where you don't have access to charging. Load up your device with movies, play games, whatever you need. This is a leap forward in spare/portable power for USB powered devices. The little led flashlight is an interesting addition, not really sure why it's there.
Great for charging your phone, reader, pad, any other USB chargeable device.
Don't really see any cons to this one - Superb and no issues. Very well done at a great price!
